July 14, 2006 – The Pre-Adventure Adventure

with No Comments

Today is the beginning of our last weekend in BC and we get to spend it with close friends in a place we love – the Asulkan Cabin in Glacier National Park (Roger’s Pass). We’ve got 13 people staying in the hut that sleeps 12 but hey, we’re all close friends. We headed up around noon on Friday in overcast and cooler conditions which were perfect for hiking up. For those of you not familiar with the area – the hut is situated at around 2100 metres, close to the toe of the Illicilliwaet glacier. We spent a fabulous weekend up there – scrambling around and exploring Saturday (some more ambitiously than others), playing games in the evenings, telling stories and eating well.
